King Alexander - His Final Collection

How perfectly suitable, was the simple showing of the final collection of the late fashion genius, Alexander McQueen, held  in a gilded ballroom in the headquarters of PPR. Word goes that McQueen is responsible for 80% of the 16 outfits, which were shown in front of a handful of fashion editors. According to his right hand, Sarah Burton, he cut most of the patterns him self and ordered a great part of the fabrics before he took his life on February  11th. Dark Ages, religious reverences, royalty, all made for these beautiful final pieces, where his sharp  tailoring and poetic, dark romanticism came perfectly together. Without his notorious extravagant and artful  showing, it all became painfully clear, what a true genius the fashion world has lost. And, it will take a while  before such an artist will come along again. If ever.
